Kevin Killer<\/strong> wins OST Presidency<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

PINE RIDGE \u2013 After Oglala Sioux Tribe election officials said that the unofficial results would be available to the public by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the results were eventually posted to the Tribe\u2019s Facebook page on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

The unofficial results show the incumbent president Julian bear Runner lost to challenger Kevin Killer by over 1,000 votes. Killer, a former state lawmaker, had made it to the primary election by receiving only one more vote than former Oglala Sioux Tribe president John Yellow-Bird Steele.<\/p>\n

Former OST President Julian Bear Runner was arrested in Rapid City over the weekend for failure to vacate a premises he was asked to leave. Rapid City Police were called to Cheers Sports Bar & Casino around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday after receiving reports of a person fighting with private security. Bear Runner was then transported to Pennington County Jail.<\/p>\n

Alicia Mousseau beat former Oglala Sioux Tribe president Bryan Brewer for the vice-president\u2019s seat according to the unofficial results. Mousseau, a clinical psychologist with a doctorate, received 1,973 votes while Brewer received 1,512.<\/p>\n

Pass Creek\u2019s representatives according to the unofficial results are Run Dubray (142) and James Cross (117). Consuelo Means was close behind Cross with 113 votes.<\/p>\n

LaCreek\u2019s representatives are Craig Dillon (98) and Cora White Horse (86). Wanda Johnson was close behind White Horse with 84 votes.<\/p>\n

Wakpamni\u2019s representatives are Jacqui Siers (284) and Michael Carlow, Sr. (277).<\/p>\n

Pine Ridge\u2019s representatives are George Dreamer (370), Ella John Carlow (342) and Nakina Mills (245). Jennifer Spotted Bear was close behind Mills with 242 votes.<\/p>\n

Oglala\u2019s representatives are Wendell Youngman Jr. (263) and Tyler yellow Boy (184).<\/p>\n

Wounded Knee\u2019s representatives are Bernardo Rodriquez Jr. (190) and Garfield Steele (186).<\/p>\n

Porcupine\u2019s representatives are Richard Iron Cloud (222) and Dave Pourier (207).<\/p>\n

Medicine Root\u2019s representatives are Ryan Jumping Eagle (297) and Gerald Cournoyer Jr. (263).<\/p>\n

Finally, Eagle Nest\u2019s representatives are Blaine Little Thunder (129) and Wesley Hawkins Sr. (103).<\/p>\n

The new president Killer said his main goal will be to bring the people and the tribal government together. \u201cWe will work closely with the people to bring about positive change,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
