RAPID CITY \u2013<\/span><\/b> Over 1,096 donations of non-perishable food, toiletries and clothing were received during Rapid City Public Library\u2019s Fine Forgiveness <\/span>initiative<\/span> in September. As a result, $14,460.05 in library fines and fees were waived and local organizations WAVI, Feeding South Dakota, Cornerstone Rescue Mission, and Humane Society of the Black Hills will receive an abundance of items on their wish lists. <\/span><\/p>\n

44% of the fines forgiven were donations on behalf of others and cleared anonymous library accounts. The largest fine forgiven on one account was $560.<\/span><\/p>\n
