So following is a compilation of the tribal elections and leadership of the nine tribes in South Dakota. We are providing this information as a service to our readers who are interested in knowing which tribes are having elections this year and when they will take place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Primary Elections were held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Live stream of the 2022 Primary Election Official Canvas was provided by KIPI Radio 935 on Monday, August 15, 2022, from the Cheyenne River Motel Conference Room. Official Results were published online as they became available. Status of the Primary Election Official Canvas was updated on 12:24 AM August 16, 2022, with the following results:<\/p>\n<p>CHAIRMAN-AT-LARGE: Gary A. Cudmore leads with 179 votes. Rayman LeBeau has 157 and Harold Frazier has 139.<\/p>\n<p>TREASURER-AT-LARGE: Kevin C. Keckler leads with 281 votes. Kenita J. Counting has 221 and Sharon F. Lee has 117.<\/p>\n<p>DISTRICT 1: Bernita In The Woods won the council seat with 141 votes.<\/p>\n<p>DISTRICT 2: Results not available at this time.<\/p>\n<p>DISTRICT 3: Kenric Dupris won the council seat with 83 votes.<\/p>\n<p>The Primary Election Official Canvas continued counting votes on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. Live streaming is available on KIPI Radio 935\u2019s Facebook page. We will report on the official results of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Primary Elections next week. General Elections will be held on November 8, 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crow Creek Sioux Tribe<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Primary Elections were held March 2022. General Elections were held April 2022. Results are as follows: Chairman, Peter Lengkeek; Vice Chairman, Richard Coleman; Secretary, Carla Pickner; and Treasurer, Christine Obago.
