The Great Plains Area Community Health Representatives (CHR) Association stands as a powerful lifeline for tribal nations across the region. More than a network, CHR is a circle of care \u2014 dedicated to health education, resource access, and breaking down barriers that have long created disparities for Native communities.<\/p>\n

Working hand-in-hand with the Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board (GPTLHB) and Indian Health Services (IHS), CHRs connect families across five states to the care they need, guiding them through insurance and health systems while never losing sight of the human touch.<\/p>\n

From driving patients to critical hospital appointments, to making home visits that bring care directly to the doorstep, CHRs embody the spirit of service.<\/p>\n

Every two years, this vital program renews its leadership, ensuring that the voices of the people continue to guide the work.<\/p>\n

This year, the Association proudly welcomes its newly elected board members:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Elton Yellow Boy (Oglala Sioux Tribe) \u2013 Chairman<\/p>\n

\u2022 Billy Jo Yellow Eagle (Rosebud Sioux Tribe) \u2013 Vice Chairman<\/p>\n

\u2022 Debra Charge of Him (Oglala Sioux Tribe) \u2013 Treasurer<\/p>\n

\u2022 Chelsey Archambault (Standing Rock Sioux Tribe) \u2013 Secretary<\/p>\n

\u2022 Tanisha Brown \u2013 Representative<\/p>\n

Chosen from among more than twenty dedicated CHRs across the Great Plains, these leaders will serve a two-year term, carrying forward the mission of health, equity, and kinship.<\/p>\n

Community Health Representatives are more than workers \u2014 they are relatives, advocates, and protectors of wellness. Their service ensures Native families across the five-state region are not left behind, but lifted up with dignity and care.<\/p>\n
