\"\"<\/a>SIOUX FALLS \u2013 South Dakota\u2019s lone Congressman Dusty Johnson voted not to condemn President Trump\u2019s tweets as racist in a vote on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Trump tweeted some controversial racist comments about democratic lawmakers who are women of color.<\/p>\n

Trump said, \u201c\u2026Why don\u2019t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.\u201d<\/p>\n

Three of the four women were born in the United States.\u00a0Four Republican Congressmen decided that this was a racist tweet and voted to condemn Trump\u2019s tweets as racist.<\/p>\n

Johnson told Native Sun News, \u201cLike the President, I\u2019ve vehemently disagreed with the far left members of the House on policy, but his inappropriate comments were the wrong way to communicate that disagreement. We need to focus on governing this country, and his tweets weren\u2019t helpful. It is interesting and unfortunate that when Congresswoman Omar made clear anti-Semitic attacks, the Speaker could not bring herself to condemn those comments with the same type of resolution she brought forth about the president. That shows the motivation behind this resolution was political.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many Native American leaders concluded that Trump\u2019s tweets were racist because in South Dakota, Johnson\u2019s home state, Native Americans have heard this racist comment many times, \u201cWhy don\u2019t you go back to the reservation.\u201d<\/p>\n
