\"\"<\/a>EAGLE BUTTE \u2014 Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Chairman Harold C. Frazier has decided to run for president of the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI). Frazier released a statement on Friday saying he accepted the Great Plains Tribal Chairman\u2019s Association\u2019s request to run for the presidency of NCAI.
\nFrazier says he has a desire to bring strong leadership on the national level to an organization that has a great influence on Washington D.C.
\n\u201cThe mission of NCAI is to protect treaty rights, protect our traditional ways, inform the government and public about our status as tribes and improve our quality of life. This is what I have been fighting for at the local and national level. I see this as an opportunity to strengthen the message of my Tribe and NCAI,\u201d stated Frazier.
\nThe Tribal leaders of the Great Plains tribal Chairman\u2019s Association, Inc. took action to request Chairman Harold Frazier, Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe run for the Position of President of the National Congress of American Indians. Chairman Harold Frazier has accepted this challenge and the GPTCA is announcing his candidacy for the Position of President of the National Congress of American Indians. Frazier is currently serving his second 4-year term as Chariman of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, based in South Dakota, he is a proven leader, Water Protector, Traditional and Spiritual Man who has served the People, Tribally, Regionally and Nationally. Chairman Frazier also serves as President of the Great Plains Tribal Chairman\u2019s Association.\u201d Regionally and Nationally. Chairman Robert Flying Hawk, Yankton Sioux Tribe.<\/p>\n
