Attorney Charles Abourezk moves to Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board
RAPID CITY – Rapid City attorney Charles Abourezk has joined the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board (GPTCHB) as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and General Counsel according to a news release on the Health Board’s website.
GPTCHB’s news release says that they have “made a powerful addition to its roster” with his employment.
Graduating from the University of South Dakota Law School in 1992, Abourezk has been the Chief Judge of the Oglala Sioux Tribal Courts and a Chief Justice of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe’s Supreme Court. He has also previously been a partner and attorney for Abourezk Law Firm which is located in Rapid City.
Along with having a successful career practicing law, Abourezk has also been a filmmaker, writer, co-founder of KILI Radio, and a political campaign consultant. He is the son of former U. S. Senator James Abourezk.
