PINE RIDGE – On April 22, 2019 a motion was made on the Council floor by Cora White Horse, seconded by Duane Yellow Hawk, to table the Constitutional Reform Issue and have the attorney review it and send it back to the Law and Order for review.

The motion carried with 12 Council members voting No and 8 Council Members voting Yes. This means that 12 Council members voted to keep the Constitutional Reform Issue from moving forward. All of the Council members that voted to move the measure forward then took a petition around the reservation getting signatures to have the measure placed on a Secretarial Ballot by the BIA. The BIA rejected the petition because of a number of improper signatures on the petition.
Native Sun News Today was approached by several OST members and asked to publish the names of those council members and how they voted.
