Families mourn after shooting in Lower Brule
LOWER BRULE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Families are mourning after a shooting in Lower Brule left three people dead, one of whom was a suspect.
According to Lower Brule Sioux Tribe Chairman Boyd Gourneau, one suspect has been apprehended, one is still at large, and one has succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The shooting happened near a boat ramp after a powwow.
One of the victims was Tayshawn Battese, a former basketball and football player.
