Goings family celebrates home ownership with Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity
RAPID CITY– Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity, along with Samantha Goings, welcomes the public to attend a home dedication ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, August 30 at 929 Dilger Avenue in Rapid City.
This home is the eighth and final home to be dedicated at the Garfield Green development, located in north Rapid City. Garfield Green has been a six-year project for Habitat, and so we’re looking forward to celebrating not only the culmination of this project with the community, but also Samantha’s hard work and perseverance in purchasing her own home.
The combined support of volunteers and financial, in-kind, and ReStore donations help low-income families achieve their goal of homeownership. Habitat homeowners qualify for the program and complete sweat equity hours which include financial and home maintenance training. They purchase their homes with an affordable mortgage. The completion of this home is made possible in collaboration with Superior Homes, Wells Fargo and Rapid City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Division.
