Hope Center closing December 8

Local Non-Profit to Close After 12 Years of Serving the Rapid City Community

Rapid City, S.D., October 13, 2023 – It is with heavy hearts that the HOPE Center announces their upcoming closure.  Due to circumstances outside of their control, they are unable to continue to provide services.  The last day of guest services will be Friday, December 8, 2023.  The HOPE Center will remain a non-profit organization and seek a new vision, purpose and future ministry focus.

For over 12 years, it has been their honor and privilege to serve the Rapid City community.  The HOPE Center ministry included providing physical addresses and mail services for thousands of individuals, offering advocacy, and meeting the basic needs of the most vulnerable. During the last few years, they welcomed between 200-300 guests per day. The HOPE Center created an inviting space where people were seen, heard, respected and treated with dignity. Relationships were developed, and guests were called by name. For many, the HOPE Center was their safe haven and the only family they had.

The HOPE Center would like to thank the many individuals, businesses and organizations that supported their ministry over the years.  They are grateful for the staff and volunteers who have been a part of the HOPE Center family, as well as the many guests they have built relationships with.  Most importantly, all glory goes to God for allowing them to share His hope and love in Rapid City
