Little Bighorn Battlefield announces 149th Battle Anniversary events

CROW AGENCY, MT — Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and the Bighorn County Historical Museum will be hosting special programs to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of the Little Bighorn on June 25, 2025. The Battlefield will be open to visitors on June 25 through 29, 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. and will return to the regular summer schedule of being open Friday through Sunday. Entrance fees will be waived on June 25th and 26th.

The main programing will be held at the Big Horn County Historical Museum in Hardin, MT, from 9:30 A.M. to 4 P.M.

The following is the planned program schedule:

Morning Session

9:30 AM – Opening Prayer

9:45 AM – Welcome and Opening Remarks James Novitsky, Acting Superintendent

10 AM to 12 PM – Voices of Tribal Leadership

Lunch Break

Afternoon Session

1:00 – 3:30 PM – Voices of Tribal Leadership continued

3:30 PM – Closing Remarks

3:45 PM – Final Prayer

Events at the Battlefield will be limited. Please check with staff at the park Contact Station for times and programming.

Parking at Little Bighorn Battlefield is limited due to construction. Parking for oversized vehicles and large RVs is minimal.

Battle of Little Bighorn Reenactments are not held at the Battlefield. They are privately operated.

We invite you to join park and museum staff in honoring the anniversary and deepening your understanding of the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
