Mountain lion program comes to Kyle, Rapid City

KYLE – On July 30, in Kyle, Cougar Fund Executive Director Penny Maldonado will share her love of mountain lions and knowledge of their positive role on the land. She will discuss mountain lions’ natural history and behaviors. She looks forward to hearing about community members’ experiences with mountain lions, she says, “As it is the stories that we share and learn from that connect us and make our lives meaningful.”

The public is invited to the admission-free event that will begin at 7 p.m. at the Cloud Horse Art Institute, which is a sky-blue metal building located directly east of the Post Office and Senior Center in Kyle Center.

On, July 31, Maldonado will meet the public at 6:15 at the Outdoor Campus West on Adventure Trail in Rapid City. Following her appearance, a South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks representative will give an update on mountain lions’ recent population data. Discussion will address the soon-to-be-released draft revision of the state’s Mountain Lion Management Plan.
