Recruiting Native families in Mní Luzáhan for diabetes study
Together Overcoming Diabetes, a type 2 diabetes study is now recruiting American Indian/Alaska Native families in the Mní Luzáhan (Rapid City) area.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Family groups, consisting of one adult with a confirmed diagnosis of type 2 diabetes and one youth aged 10-25 who live in Rapid City.
WHAT IS THE STUDY ABOUT?
This is a family-centered, Lakota specific curriculum called Together Overcoming Diabetes (TOD). Our goal is to help adults living with type 2 diabetes manage their disease, prevent diabetes among youth, and promote overall wellbeing. In short, this study will answer the question, “Does the TOD program promote better health for American Indian/Alaska Native families?”
